About this training course

The PO3 course is designed to provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to protect worksites using a Track Work Authority and managing rail traffic through worksites for work in the TfNSW realm (Sydney Trains & NSW Trains).

Requirements for this course

Candidates must arrange for the completion of nominated practical activities under the supervision of a qualified person. Protection Officer Level 3 training for assessment by TfNSW for work in Sydney Trains area, includes but not limited to:

  • Applicable TfNSW Network Rules & Procedures, and the following nationally endorsed compentencies:
  • TLIL3065 Implement track occupancy authority (TOA)
  • TLIC2081 Pilot rail traffic within work on track limits
  • TLIL4069 Plan and coordinate protection for multiple worksites within Limits of a work on track authority.

Prerequisites for this course:

Holder of an RIW card confirming currently qualified as TfNSW Protection Officer 2 or equivalent

Requirements on the day

Provide an original document with Photo ID (e.g. passport, drivers license, student card) on the day top confirm identify Bring a pen and wear comfortable clothing
